Camp NaNoWriMo Update- Week One

So, since most bloggers who participate in NaNo presumably update their readers on their progress, I'm going to do the same.

~Week one update~

3/44 hours
Not great, but planned. I expected to be gone the first 5-6 days of camp, so I planned my goal accordingly. But my update is pretty lame considering. I'm working with a leader of a different cabin to do a multi-cabin word war via Facebook next week. That should be pretty fun. I haven't coordinated anything of that nature before, so I'm excited to try it.

~Goals for next week~

I would like to make progress on my edits. Hopefully, I'll be able to get in at least two hours a day, Monday-Friday. That'll total me at 10-ish hours for the week. Weekends are unpredictable, so I have no idea what kind of progress will be made then. The word war should help, though I don't know what sort of scaling they'll do for us who have time goals instead of word goals. But we shall see.

~Cabin update~

I love working with epically awesome writers! These are no exception. Even though I missed working with them for almost a week, I am enjoying getting to know the guests! Also, I love fangirling. I love people who love fangirling. So my cabin mates are perfect.

What about y'all? Are you on top of your goal? Or are you (like me!) way behind?

  1. Oh, you can catch up!!!

As for me, I'm on top of things. For now. Yay!

There should still be story left when I hit 30K, so that's the most important part. I didn't want to end the book before reaching my goal.

    1. Oh yeah, I can catch up! Just about 2-3 hours a day, which isn't bad. That gives me the weekends off. Most of today's work is going to be a read-through, which is nice since I'm still getting rid of these allergies.

But yay! You're on top of things! And it's always nice to have a little more story than you need, so you don't have to change a goal. Or worse, be like me where you don't know if you'll have enough or not until after the cut-off date for goal changing.

  2. Hey Sarah, are you open to me tagging you for the #VoicesofYA tag? Just thought I'd check :)

  3. I was going to remark what an oddly specific goal you had until I saw your sentence explaining it haha! I should have been smart like you and tailored it to my month. Instead I decided to do a whopping 50 hours for some reason. *rolls eyes at self*
Good luck with your writing! :)

    1. Right now I'm wondering if it was still too high. But I am not one to back down so easily.
