#TagTuesday- #awesomebloggeraward
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Jules tagged me for the #awesomebloggeraward.
And now I'm finally getting around to doing it. Good going, me!

5. Give them 10 new questions to answer. See the bottom of the post
~A book you've had for a long time but still haven't read~
I think Captives by Jill Williamson is a good fit for this question. I've had it for... I think three... four years? and I still haven't read it. I put it on my TBR for February and we'll see if I like it. *fingers crossed*
~A book you read right after buying it~
Within These Lines and Romanov, to name a few. I've read a lot of books right after buying them. But those are the two I know for certain.
~A book you regret buying~
The Last Unicorn. Not a great book at all. The cover I have is GORGEOUS, though, so I still keep it for aesthetic purposes.
EDIT: I'm actually unhauling it now. Aesthetic purposes is no longer a valid excuse for taking up shelf space.

~A series that you wish you'd bought the entirety of while you were at the store but instead you just got the first one and now you have to wait to get the others~
The Lunar Chronicles. I got Cinder at a used bookstore and didn't buy the following books. And now... I'm pretty bummed out about that.
I recently found Scarlet and Cress at a Goodwill, so I picked them up for super cheap, but I'm still hunting for Winter.

~A book you wish they'd make into a movie~
I wish they would do the Percy Jackson series again, but this time actually do a good job with it.
Oh! And maybe the Books of Bayern series too! Now I would be totally up for that!

~A book you'd love to step into and never return~
Narnia. For sure. It's possibly the safest option.
~A book you convinced your siblings to read and they thought they wouldn't like it but they actually did~
I wasn't sure if there were any, but I asked Joe and he said that I made him read The Hobbit and he enjoyed it. He in turn made me read some Redwall books and now I enjoy them, though I haven't read many yet. I'm planning to change that soon.
~Computer or notebook for writing down story ideas/notes?~
While I've started to use Microsoft OneNote for keeping my notes straight, I still much prefer using my idea notebook for jotting things down. It's just harder for me to stay organized.
One program I've recently started using and I'm thoroughly enjoying is Shaxpir. It keeps all of the details of your story in one place, similar to Scrivener, but way more user friendly (don't @ me, Scrivener users. I don't like that program and I'm entitled to that opinion). Also, it's free for the basic version, which works really well. And their customer service is 10/10.
So basically, to answer this question, I use a notebook to write down all basic ideas and plot bunnies. Then, once it feels like it's going to be an actual project, I'll create a folder for it and start using the computer to compile my ideas/notes.

~If you could have extra time to write some fanfiction for fun, what story would you delve into? Would you add new characters or just use the original ones?~
Ugh. I don't even think much about fanfic anymore. My own, maybe? I love writing different backstories and sequels to my books.
I maybe would do some Lunar Chronicle fanfic, just because I think it would be fun to mess around with some sci-fi without having any pressure of getting the tech and stuff right. It's already made up!
But, to be quite honest, if I had extra time, I wouldn't spend it writing fanfic. Just not my thing.

~A book you can't wait to read~
I just got Good Morning, Good Life by Amy Landino for Christmas and I can't wait to dive into that! She's the morning routine queen, so any book that she writes about it is going to be good!
~Bonus Question: Have you seen Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse? If so, thoughts?~
No, I haven't watched it nor am I really interested in watching it. While I know it's gotten a lot of positive feedback, it's just not something I really want to see. I've never really been into Spiderman and, quite frankly, with all of the remakes, I'm a little ODed on his character. Tom Holland's is the only version where I've been excited about it. Any other is kind of meh to me.

Ooo, this tag looks super fun! Thanks for tagging me! *immediately begins plotting*
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I would be up for another Percy Jackson remake. It can’t possibly be as bad as the first time . . . right? XD
Absolutely!! Can't wait to see your answers!
DeleteRIGHT?! I mean, if the author hates it with a passion, then it's got to be bad.
Hey, Shaxpir is fine, too. To each his own. Even though I am currently a die-hard Scrivener user, it took me a while to get comfortable with it, so I understand folks who aren't a fan.
ReplyDeleteStill think you should watch Spiderverse, though. It's just FUNNY.
Yes, I really enjoyed using Shaxpir. It just worked with how my brain operates.
DeleteEh. Maybe someday.
Yay for getting rid of books that only have aesthetic purposes! (Though I DID just go google what it looked like and am now fighting the temptation to buy a cool looking unicorn book...)
ReplyDeleteAND YES!! A Percy Jackson remake would be awesome! Maybe where they actually look like 12 year olds, Annabeth is actually blonde and it follows the plot?
And I was in the exact same boat about Into the Spiderverse but then I was sick/bored one day so I watched it and OH MY GOSH. IT WAS AMAZING AND HILARIOUS AND I LOVE IT
It does look pretty awesome, doesn't it?
DeleteYES!!!! Like, it would be so much more compelling if they actually looked the age that they were.
Yay, thanks for tagging me! I haven't had a good tag in a while :)
ReplyDeleteFELLOW SHAXPIR USER!!!!! *high fives* Finally! (that reminds me, I should realllly get to putting a review of that program on my blog or something. That program needs more love.)
I'm not much of a Spidey fan either, but I did really like Into the Spiderverse. That movie does point out all the Spidey incarnations though, oh my goodness.
Absolutely!!
DeleteI actually was planning on doing a review about Shaxpir as well! Maybe we should do a collab about it!!!
Maybe someday I'll check it out. Just not today.
I bookmarked Shaxpir to look into later!! I've always been iffy about Scrivener. Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteYES! You should totally give it a shot. I find it works better than Scrivener (at least for the way my brain works). At the very least, you don't have to pay to use it once you have it, unless you really want the stuff that the paid version offers.
DeleteI've bought a few books with pretty covers that disappointed me at least their pretty. XD
ReplyDeleteLOL, that's my mood always.
