August Writing Update

I don't think August is over already, but my calendar says otherwise. I didn't really 'experience' August. I don't know how to explain it. It's a weird feeling. But I was gone for the first half. When I got home, I just kind of worked in a shocked state the first week. I relayed to my parents that I didn't feel like I accomplished much of anything (even though I did) because there was so much to do at home. So I spent the rest of the month organizing just about everything in my house. It desperately needed it. And it also explains why my posting was so sporadic. Anyway, enough of my griping about a too-short month. Here's my update!

~What's happening in WIP-land~

I managed to get some brainstorming done during my trip. I had a lot of issues I needed to work through for my edits. Some of the locations were amazing and inspiring, which really helped get the creative juices flowing! I also had Jules and Evangeline to bounce ideas off of. It was pretty awesome.

I worked on redoing my ending. It looks like I'm going to have to rewrite my last ten chapters. I'm excited about it (though slightly dreading it)! I also wrote several new scenes from scratch, which is fun and not fun at the same time.
I mean, seriously, isn't this place to die for?

~What's happening in non-WIP-land~

I was supposed to outline my NaNo novel this month. I only finished part of it. I have quite a ways left to go before it's ready, so hopefully, I can finish it before November. #procrastination #shouldhavedonethisearlier #cantwaittowritethisstory

Also, I have an exciting new project I'm working on! Hopefully, once the details are ironed out, I'll be able to share some details about it. Seriously, I'm super excited about it. Excuse me while I go fangirl...

Okay, I'm back. Anyway, there you have it. All in all not much happened during August. Except for lots of brainstorming, of course.

What about y'all? Did August fly by for you as well? Did you have a lovely summer? Any exciting writing breakthroughs happen?

  1. That picture... *squeals* I'd love to write in a setting like that. Beautiful. Summer was good for me, just emotional. I'll probably do a post about it soon. But, figuring out life is tougher than I thought. God is good, though. :D

Can't wait to hear about your new project. <3

    1. It is tough and emotional at times to find one's way through life, believe you me. But knowing that God has a plan makes it easier to face. Doesn't necessarily take the difficulty away, just makes it less frightening.

    1. Isn't it, though?! It was one of my favorite locations this month! Very beautiful!

  3. I definitely sympathize with the feeling of not getting anything done! (except in my case it's usually because I haven't, really...) I hope September has the decency to take her time ;)

    1. Seeing as my family has two birthdays this month, I doubt it'll take it's time. But it will be a good month, nonetheless!

  4. I haven't even started thinking of my NaNo novel yet. I probably should...

    1. Are you doing Words of Peace (is that the right one?)?

    2. Yes! That's my plan. Thankfully I already have a loose outline, since as the story grew I made a bunch of notes as to how the plots will wrap up. I just need to gather it all together and make sure it'll be enough to get me through 50,000 words.
